Remember when your mother used to tell you not to play video games so much or it’ll rot your brain? Quite the opposite it seems. Yes, apparently it’s true, killing zombies on Call of Duty (or playing any fast-paced game for that matter) improves our brain function, so all you game buffs can jump for joy and fire up that console!
In a recent article on Bloomberg, it’s been discovered that “playing fast-paced action video games improves a player’s learning ability”. The article goes on to say that “People who play video games such as Activision Blizzard Inc. (ATVI)’s “Call of Duty” are better able to multitask, perform cognitive tasks such as rotating objects in their minds and focus and retain information better than non-players”.
So what does this mean for those of us that like nothing more that blowing apart the virtual undead with a Ray Gun?
Keep slaying those hordes! But of course, everything in moderation you Rambo-esque zombie hunters! As an avid gamer myself, this is great and exciting news 🙂
